Plants take about 3 wks in cold weather to perk up
These wonderful strawberry plants come alive in about three weeks in 50 degree weather. (try to put 'em in EARLY so they bear well the very first year)Hirt's terrific greenhouse is a little too far away, so I buy from them online.Plants are shipped in great packaging to prevent drying out. The strawberries are shipped dormant and bare-rooted, so don't be alarmed when they look totally dead, that's how they should look!Soak in water for a few minutes, and carefully plant so the crown is just above soil line, water in well, they'll perk up in just a couple weeks, (sooner if it's warmer outside) and give you terrific strawberries the first year! This greenhouse has the best selection of tomatoes, peppers and flowers I have seen. Some VERY rare and unusual things to try!Thank goodness they sell here, so everybody can now buy from them, no matter where we are!!

Strong, healthy plants!
I had never grown strawberries before but I thought I'd give it a shot this year. I quickly received these strawberry plants but didn't have the time to plant them right away, so I placed the plants in a jug with their roots in water. About a week or so later I had purchased a pretty little strawberry planter pot (not necessary for planting the berries but was just something I had wanted) and I moved the plants into their new home with some good dirt. They've been growing very well every since. I have made sure to keep them watered every day because they're blasted by sun all day on our deck. It's still too early in the season to have fruit but I can tell that I'm going to get a good little yield off of them! There are lots of flowers on each plant. (See the photos that I've uploaded.)I can't wait to taste the first fruit that comes off of these!

Product Description
The best tasting of the everbearing strawberries (and a great-tasting berry, period), 'Evie' produces a large crop of medium-size, firm, deep red fruit over a long period. Its superb flavor makes it an excellent fresh-eating and dessert berry, and its firm texture ensures that it also freezes well. 'Evie' is a much better tasting and producing berry than 'Ozark Beauty'. It is excellent for the garden, strawberry jar or patio pot. From a spring planting you'll get a late crop the first year and a full-season crop there after. Plants are resistant to red stele and verticillium wilt. Zones 3-8. Top to learn more
