Best overall Stevia Product we tried
We tried 4 different Stevia products to see which we would like the best. We compared the taste, any aftertaste, how fast it dissolved in cold liquids, specifically mint tea, and cost. We tried Stevia Supreme, Truvia, Sweetleaf, and Spring Valley.Stevia Supreme came out the best. It dissolved reasonably quickly, had a good taste, little or no aftertaste, seems to be one of the best for having the least added ingredients, and it is a very good price from Amazon.Truvia was our 2nd choice. It was best for quickly dissolving in cold liquids, and also had a good taste, but we had 2 problems with it. My husband thought it had a slight aftertaste (I didn't notice it) and the label lists "natural ingredients" which could be anything. Also, it was a bit more expensive than the Stevia Supreme at our local supermarket but not a lot (and a lot less than I am seeing it today on Amazon!).Third is Sweetleaf. A great alternative to all other sweetners.
Years ago, before you could buy Stevia in the states (the sugar lobbyists kept it out of America for many years) I ordered a bunch from South America and we would order it in raw form, funny now that i think of it. It was to sweet and hard to control portions I couldn't use it. In packets it's wonderful. Of course I hear people complain about it having a slight taste of something else, and quit using it. I use it because it is better for me then either Equal or the Spelenda. Both of them leave an after taste you have to get used to. I would love to just use sugar, but I have to watch my sugar intake, and this is just the ticket. I gave it 5 stars, I take it for different reasons then other people. I would rather have a little taste of liquorish in my coffee, then dry mouth with Equal or Spelenda. It only takes a week or so to get accustomed to this, so it's a 5 star in my book. Tastes Delicous but made my belly hurt
I discovered Stevia about a year ago (around the same time I found out I had to give up sugar!) and really I like the taste of stevia so much I don't even miss sugar...okay well maybe I miss sugar a little bit but eliminating sugar from my diet would of been much more difficult if it weren't for stevia.One thing to be aware of is that many stevia products have an ingredient called xylitol which if you have a sensitive stomach it can give you belly aches from just ingesting a little bit. I found this out the hard way, not a big deal because I was able to return the product without a hassle, great customer service on amazon. Goes a long, long way
It took me some time to get used to stevia and learn how to use it both for drinks and baking but now that I have both the taste and know how it is truly a great way to reduce sugar intake. I am not diabetic and have no health concerns that require me to avoid sugar, I just have a huge sweet tooth and use stevia to reduce the amount of sugar I consume for overall long term health. I have found that with this product 1/2 a teaspoon equals a full cup of sugar. I have gotten the best results in baked goods by mixing one or two types of other sweetners with the stevia to equal the amount of sugar called for in the recipe. So, for example, in a recipe that requires 1 cup of sugar, I would use 1/4 tsp stevia (which is like a half cup of sugar) with 1/2 cup of honey or rapadura. Sometimes, if I want to really cut the sugar and calories, I even use a mixture of stevia and organic erythritol. Great value!
I love using this Stevia Extract in my tea, I use it lots of the time up to 3 times a day! It tastes great with my Licorice Peppermint Tea (Yogi), however I am sure it would taste great with most teas. It also tastes pretty good when added to oatmeal of any sort and mixed with some fruit. I would be weary of using this Stevia with any form of protein shake/meal replacement, it just doesn't go well. I wanted to try it with Garden of Life's RAW Meal, but the taste did not improve (tasted rather odd with the Stevia). I would however recommend to a small amount to a smoothie with more flavors. Good Alternative to Sugar
As someone who has lived with diabetes for the past 11 years, I've done quite a bit of research to find a healthy (and cost-effective) alternative to sugar to satisfy my cravings for something sweet when the occasion arises, and it arises more often than not! next best thing to sugar when you are deprived
this will take some getting used to. what can compare to sugar when you're not allowed to have it. i baked a cheesecake with this and used only 1.5 teaspoons! the cheesecake was great!my problem is my morning decaf...i am so used to sweet coffee! i used to put 3 equals or splendas in my cup..well until i noticed that i was forgetting things!!! my memory took a vacation so to speak on the equal and i believe the same for the slenda. so ok i use about 1/2 teaspoon of stevita in my coffee, and i get a sweetness that is very noticable.i no longer use equal or splenda and i don't get that brain fade anymore!!!this is really a great product! it will also teach you to steer away from that icky sweet taste we love so much which is'nt good for us anyway!it will not spike your insulin as well.i use the 16 ounce bulk canister..but the 2000 packets is a great deal too!update: let me save you money...i purchased the stevita herb in its natural...

NATURAL AND SWEET!!
I used to have the actual Stevia plant, but my dog kept eating it because of the sweet taste!! So, I decided to try this particular brand because of the rave review---I am so glad I did!! This is an excellent substitute in cooking, especially for family members who are diabetic!!I added this to a pie recipe and the taste did not change.This is a great product. BE CAREFUL, THIS STUFF IS SWEET!! I dipped the tip of a toothpick in the Stevia, TWICE, and my mother told me I made her coffee TOO sweet!!Everyone's tastebuds are different. Use only a tiny bit
I usualy buy my Stevia in the health food store in pre measured packets for my coffee. I bought this to use for cooking and baking. I ran out of the pre measured Stevia and had to use this. Oh my i used a bit to much the first time. you need to use such a tiny bit to get a sweet taste. I love stevia. then why did i give this product 4 stars. Stevita has natural filler derived from corn, also found in melons, pears etc == Stevia = that i normally buy has no fillers. This product has an after taste that Sevia doesnt have. This product may be perfect in cooking and baking so it got 4 stars. but i dont like it in my coffee. not something i want to use everyday.

Simply the Best Stevia Product!!!
I've used this product for quite a few years, after trying MANY other brands and forms, and still find this to be the absolute best stevia product--hands down! I don't know what we would do without this product. We use it every day, all day, for coffee, tea, sweetening yogurt fruit, etc. All our family members like it, too. One bottle lasts for over two months, usually three. It has no aftertaste, a few drops is all it takes and finally, we've been able to almost eliminate sugars from our diet without "suffering". There are 2,880 drops in a 4 oz or 120ml bottle, according to the manufacturer. We love it!UPDATE: Received new shipment and bottle label has changed. Now states there are approx. 600 servings per bottle at 5-8 drops per serving or to taste. Last few bottles seemed slightly weaker, but still the best of all the other brands, by far. We still love it!

Best Alternative to Sugar I've found, bit pricey though...
I've been using Stevia in the kitchen as a sugar substitute for years, absolutely love it. Tastes great in coffee, good bye sugar! But also have been using it in my baking to lower the sugar content and thereby lowering the calories! Although I like the dropper, and the bottle this product comes in, it's just way too expensive when compared to other stevia products online. The best deal I've found is on amazon of course; . It's literally less than a dollar per ounce. I wouldn't say it tastes any different. Stevia is stevia to me just like sugar is sugar, but the price is so much lower it's hard not to switch to the powder form. I have found that with this product as little as half of a teaspoon equals a full cup of sugar so be careful when measuring, a little goes a long way!

Everything but coffee.
It's great in everything but coffee, & now I know why. If you use it in relatively bland food, you need to use VERY little, so all you get is the sweetness. If you use it in something with a stronger flavor (like coffee), it takes more of the product to overcome any bitterness & you start getting into the area where the stevia starts contributing a bitterness of its own. For some reason the stevia crystals don't have this effect. But it's fine in everything else I've tried it in, and it lasts FOREVER. So I think I'll probably keep getting both.
