Amazing!!
I love the process of shaving with a real razor because it's relaxing and there's a technique involved, but I hate doing it frequently because it takes time and it's somewhat messy. I actually shave very little, since my work doesn't require it. ...and I've tried a bunch, both foil and rotary. None have shaved this close with this much comfort. There is absolutely no razor burn. Even when I tried shaving over portions of my neck several times, nothing but a close shave. Beyond that the razor has a good weight and fits comfortably in my hand. The "minutes left" indicator is very convenient. Cleaning is a snap, just pop open the heads and run them under hot water.Perhaps the biggest selling point is the 45-day money back guarantee. You try it and don't like it, you get your money back.The down sides... Forget about using this for a "scruffy look"; there's no height adjustment. It's either a close shave or nothing. If you travel and expect to be gone longer than a single full charge (enough for 60 minutes of shaving) then you need to take along the base. The recharger does not plug directly into the razor. Norelco's biggest competitor is it's past
This is my second Norelco 1290x shaver from Amazon. The first one I got was defective since I was not able to turn it on after charging it. I must point out that Amazon was very prompt in replacing the defective shaver. This is what makes Amazon great in my opinion.Let me say right up front, the 1290x will never match the shave of something like a Gillette Fusion razor. The reason I want an electric shaver is because it is quick and easy to use and it gives a reasonably close shave. The 1290x feels great in the hand, is well constructed and does shave a little smoother and closer than my previous high end Norelco the 6885xl with 9 years of almost daily use, which I am still very impressed with. For Light & Medium Growth
The last couple of years I've received two electric shavers as gifts. One was the Norelco 1150 and the other a Remington R7130. Neither did a bang up job. To make a long story short, they both wound up in the donation bin. I have to honestly say that with a thick growth, I am not a big fan of souped up shavers. Still, I keep hoping. Best shaver yet - You don't need the Jet Clean System
Having exclusively used Norelco (and 1 Remington) shavers over the past 30 years, I can say that this is by far the best shaver I have used yet. Here's what I like:* Gives a great shave* Very quiet* Charges quickly* Alot less irritation than previous razors. I think the fact that the heads move to the contour of your face has alot to do with that.* Alot easier to hold* Looks stylish, alot slimmer than previous modelsMy previous top-of-the-line Remington had the cleaning kit (similar to the Norelco setup). Great Electric Shaver
I have used several electric shavers in the past and always experienced irritation on my neck from the shaver. No matter how long I used these shavers (allowing for the adjustment) my neck would be irritated and burned after the shave. I can truly say that after using this shaver just a couple of times, I noticed the irritation became less and less noticeable. Now after using this shaver for over a month I have no irritation after I shave. I have used this shaver dry, wet and with shaving gel. I get the closest shave I have ever gotten with an electric shaver. I was kinda hesitant about spending $349.99 for an electric shaver but now I am glad I did.

I assumed this would be a nice razor, I just didn't think it would be this good.Packaging:The first thing you notice is that this razor is severely over packaged. First is the main box, which has two hefty seals that require a sharp object to cut them. Inside is a plastic clamshell containing the razor and the anti-theft devices. A sharp object is also needed to open this. Next is the big box that has the stand (wrapped in foam), cleaning brush, power adapter (one end wrapped in plastic), and the blade cover. Another box has the soft carrying case, which is in a plastic bag. Finally there is the box with a corrugated insert that contains the wash unit, which is wrapped in foam and in a plastic bag.First Impressions:Nice touches abound. Ive spent years looking for this shaver!
Let me start by saying I detest shaving in the mornings, Im always rushed, its a hassle. Because of this, Ive always loved the idea of an electric shaver, unfortunately, after trying literally dozens of them I have never found one that worked well, until now that is.This thing is amazing. Admittedly, it is very expensive. I have to admit I probably wouldnt have tried it if I was unable to get this shaver as a sample, but after trying it now, I would definately spend the money.Be warned, it even says in the instructions that it could take a couple weeks before your face gets accustomed to the process and you get good results. This was definatley the case for me, I had some nasty razor burn after the first few uses, but it lightened up every time and now I get a smooth, painless shave every time.--SHAVE--This unit provides a smooth comfortable shave, with few passes required. It does not shave you smooth in one pass, I think that is fantasy...

The closest electric shave I've ever had
If you're a (hairy) man, you're more than likely always trying to find the next best shaver, but hate to spend a fortune on one that may not do the job...Enter the Philips Norelco SensoTouch 3D Electric Shaver with Jet Clean System (black!). Hopefully it does the job, because it sure as heck costs a fortune!Firstly, this is without doubt one of the nicest electric shavers I've ever seen.
