High and Dry
After purchasing a Canon 40D, 3 lenses and a 580 speedlight - and combining this with my existing two lenses and a Canon 300D camera body and a 420EX speedlight - my canvas and back pack bags were a non-starter.Pelican sells to the US Army - among others - and we've shipped goods that survived fork lift prong holes in the case with Pelican - but not with others. The 1510 can carry all my stuff in waterproof and dust proof protection - fit in an overhead airline bin and have wheels and an extended handle that make dragging it around easier than anything I've tried yet.The model comes without padding - with foam padding you can "pluck" to fit - or my choice - the most costly - padded insert. For space management and reasonable internal protection - this is the way to go. It allows for change of your equipment by simply adjusting the velcro dividers. No wasted space. Everything safe and secure. Pelican will sell you TSA approved locks as an aftermarket choice...

Great way to travel with expensive camera equipment
This is a great Pelican case - small enough to easily store in the overhead compartment while flying, tuff, organized, and portable in airports as a carry on with its wheels and retractable handle for those of us that do not want to check your $10,000 in camera equipment to be tossed around by the baggage handlers. The construction qulaity is amazing. I can fit my 17-40, 100 mm macro, flash, 70-200, 24-70, body with a vertical grip, and still have room for filters, and lots of extra accessories. If you buy the separate lid organizer listed on amazon you will not be able to use the top foam insert which compromises the protection it offers so I would not buy it again. Recommended for any serious photographer!!

Great case but the Amazon stock is older model
I purchased this to hold my photography gear. The case itself is fantastic and I would give it 5 Stars. The issue I have is with the padded dividers. First-of-all the photo of the divider is different from what you get but that is not my main concern: What bothers me is that there is absolutely NO/ZERO padding on the bottom of the dividers. Therefore, if you put your lenses on the dividers your lenses will hit directly against the bottom of the hard case wall. Considering most of my lenses are f/2.8 I was not willing to take this risk so I called Pelican and they had me take photos of the padded dividers and send it to them. The called me back within the same day and told me the padded dividers that I have are a very very old version they used to supply with the 1514 case. Thus, apparently the supply of 1514 cases that Amazon currently has are very old but other than the padded divider rest of the case appears to be identical to the current generation. I was going to return the case...

Perfect case for my Kahr pm9 pistol, with two magazines and a box of bullets
I was a little skeptical being that when I bought this case, it didn't actually have a picture of it. So I wondered what to expect when I got it. Well, it was brand new in box from [...] and fits my pistol perfectly and still have a little room for two magazines and 50 round box of ammo. There's not much else to say about this case other than it's the traditional awesome Pelican quality and has all the features I looked for, such as the two spots for locks, so I can check my handgun with my luggage if flying. Pick and pluck foam is absolutely awesome.Buy this case!

Great case. Others have said it well. If you want to lock the case, here's what you'll need:There are spots for two locks. Unsure of what padlock would fit, I took the case with me to the local hardware store and got Masterlock 9140T and they fit perfectly. The 9140 is an unusual aluminum model, but any of the Masterlock 140 series would seem to have similar dimensions, for example, this one: They have a 7/8" (22mm) shackle height and a 1/4" (6mm) shackle. It's a solid (not laminated or coated) lock and the thinner body fits perfectly between the handle and the hasp with no room to spare or move around.A taller shackle height would allow the case to gap open. Shorter and the lock wouldn't close. A thicker lock...

amazing case and a relative bargain at this price
Whatever you plan on carrying in this case (camera, electronics, handgun, breakable valuables), rest assured it will be safe. I especially like the padlock-compatibility this case presents, and purchased the Master Lock 643D Combination Lock, 1-9/16-Inch set to go with it, which fit fine. Bear in mind that if you are airline-checking a firearm in an airline-approved case like this one, you do NOT want TSA-approved locks on it, contrary to a lot of reviews that imply that you do! This is a small case, so if you are not 100% sure your items will fit in it, order the next size up. It would be a shame to only discover an item is too tall after carefully picking out the interior foam to fit its contour...

My Case for This Case
With a launch date in less than a week, I ordered this case to carry my DSLR and lenses aboard a raft headed down the Middle Fork of the Salmon River in Idaho. With 2-day delivery, the case arrived in time for me to get it setup for my equipment and packed for the trip. It worked beautifully. It is now the permanent home for my gear.

Awesome case as expected!
Pelican makes incredibly high quality cases. Nothing but the best and this case is no exception. However the picture with the item makes it appear slightly larger than it actually is. I knew what I was getting by checking the dimensions but I could see how someone could be easily confused. I use this to store my Tascam DR-07 Digital Audio Recorder for my video jobs and it works flawlessly. I absolutely love the diced foam so much! It's so much easier and professional looking than a razor blade or hot knife. A++ Product!

Great to protect microphone set
I purchased the 1120 case to hold a small wireless microphone set.The box has been dropped, showered, opened and closed without a problem.Initially the latches are a bit stiff, however are easier to operate over time. This is not to say they are getting worn down though, it still seals extremely well.Make sure to allow for a bit of extra room around whatever item you are looking to protect, as the purpose of the foam inside is to help protect it from shock. You want a bit of "padding" around your items.Besides protecting my gear, it also looks pretty sharp as well.

Great Pelican Product
This was just what I was looking for!Installs easily and holds all the loose items I didn't know where to store.The only drawback is replacing this for the top protective foam.I looked for something to hold my personal documents and this does it well.Manilla size compartment is very useful.It doesn't look that tough but it has the Pelican guaranty so I'm not concerned.

Poor built
It is very useful but the quality is very poor, the nylon is seamed on a plastic board, the nylon feels and look very cheap, as for the sizes of the pockets they are well proportioned. I'll use this combined with the Pelican 1610 for travel . If you don't care about how it looks it would to fine.

Not a bad product.
As owner of several pelican products I felt positive this also would be a no brainer for me. This specific lid organizer has five fishnet pouches with zippers, two nylon pouches with a velcro flap, three thin narrow pouches without any flap used to store pens, toothbrushes, etc. There is a windowed pouch to display drivers licence or some other form of ID as well. Finally there is one main nylon pocket without a zipper or flap. The whole organizer has a hard backing made of what seems to be plastic. This case comes with 7 short screws and double back tape to secure the organizer to the lid of your pelican case.Overall I am pleased with this product but I wish the other compartments had either a zipper or a velcro flap as well. It's fine under normal usage, but after baggage handlers get done, whatever you had in the other compartments might end up somewhere else.Also I wish the compartment material was made of something different then nylon. Perfect Rifle Case and Very Versatile
I've been hauling my rifles around for years. Some of them are quite expensive and I wanted something that would protect them well. This case has three layers of foam. The two side layers are left solid to protect the contents, while the middle layer can be custom cut to almost any shape you need. That locks in the gun without putting too much pressure on it like cheaper cases. Making the cutouts just a bit smaller than the gun shape will keep them nice and tight, but still easy to insert and remove.The plastic exterior is fairly thick and very rugged. It looks and feels like it would take a good beating and hold up just fine. There are four very thick heavy-duty clasps that hold it closed. Hinges and material feel very solid. No apparent weak spots in the moving parts.One side, at one end, of the case has two small diameter wheels. These wheels are fairly wide though and made of some very hard rubber material. A great case at a fair price!!!!
A lot of people don't think that you need to spend this kind of money on a case, but take it from me it matters! I've been shooting competitively for years now and nothing is worse than buying a cheap case and having to completely reset your optics after a flight. Spend the money upfront or waste time afterwards just getting back to square one. This is my third pelican case so now I don't have to switch out the inserts when I bring different setups. But switching the foam inserts is a way to save a little money if you want. Also if your looking for a double firearm case for an AR-15 style weapons system you can usually do it with this case. Although if you are going to try and put two 20" barrel AR-15 it's going to be really tight. Also be careful cutting the foam make sure you have the layout exactly how you want it before you start cutting or you can end up with a real mess!
