Once we finally got to the real Penn Station, New York Penn Station, the two of us that remained had to fight for a cab amongst these same drunk people that were torturing us on the NJ Transit in addition to the generally drunk population of New... Getting out of Jersey as fast as possible meant ditching the stupid, slow PATH train and hopping aboard the NJ Transit without an ticket or complete certainty as to whether it would end up at New York Penn Station. Once we made it to Newark Penn Station, officially the sketchiest train station EVER, we realized that our party had dwindled down to two. What does one do the night before an early morning drive from the city to NJ. Go to a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert at the Prudential Center in Newark of course. I had never seen NJ Transit like this before. The hike to Newark Penn Station from the Prudential Center can be summed up in one word: unfortunate. So much stuff had to be done in the car: fixing the communion card, eating breakfast, finishing the process of getting dressed and getting ready. Once the concert concluded, I was trying to get my party to race the heck out of the venue so we could catch the fastest PATH train straight out of there. A trip to the Newark police station to bail someone out seemed almost inevitable at this point unless we moved quickly. It is all the more unfortunate when you are running trying to make a train amongst thousands of drunk people. After spending a bit more time at my aunt’s house, I went back into the city. I don’t know what people whine about – the whole service was only 1 hour 15 minutes. We made it to the church with plenty of time and my cousin was very pretty and very happy to receive her first communion.

On Tuesday evening, a southbound NJ Transit train hit a car stuck there on the railroad tracks. NJ Transit says Antipas told police she misread her GPS and turned onto the tracks from Washington Avenue, then got stuck. NJ Transit trains have been running all day through the railroad crossing at Washington Avenue in Berlin. The driver of the car, 27-year-old Eleni Antipas of Cherry Hill, received a careless driving ticket, according to New Jersey Transit police, who are investigating the collision. NJ Transit says the signals were working properly at the time of the collision and were checked again on Wednesday. Two people on the train were taken to Virtua Hospital and treated for minor injuries, according to NJ Transit. “I heard someone screaming, ‘Get out of the car, get out of the car now.
