Cedar Fresh Moth Balls
Used these once because my grandmother in Arizona had leftovers. Never had a problem using them: no discoloration of clothes, no cedar smell on clothes, and no moths or insects in general. Top to learn more

Great! Wish it were available locally
These cedar balls are about the size of a kid's bouncy ball you find in dispensers at the mall and grocery store. Very fragrant. Very satisfied with the whole Cedar Fresh line - I purchased a Cedar & Lavender spray from them to use in conjunction with the balls. I use the balls in little sachets I sewed myself from a brand spankin' new handkerchief, which I then placed in small zip-up sweater bags containing my cashmere and my woolen sweaters for the summer months. I used about 4 balls per sachet, which seems sufficient. I'd buy them again, and probably will in a few years! Top to learn more

That's how and why they work
Giving an item one star because you don't understand what it does and why it works is pretty lame. Moth balls are SUPPOSED to "smell bad" and be toxic to unwanted critters. The fact that the old fashioned moth balls (which I guarantee work more universally than cedar oil) do just that is why they work.

Just what a mothball should be
I used these outside in window boxes and flower pots to keep the chipmonks and squirrels away. While a few of these rodents still hung aroung, the majority stayed away and the flowers finally florished.

Great product
I used these satchels in bags of alpaca fiber after my animals were sheared. I had to store the fiber for several years before I sent it off to the mill and one of my worst fears was moths getting into the fiber. These satchels were a god send! I didn't want to use moth balls because they are notorious for leaving a noxious smell. This product smells wonderful and after 2 years of storage my fiber is moth free and I just got my yarn back from the mill! Mission accomplished. Top to learn more

Not a lot of Scent
Wanted to try these because of the lavender, but really could not smell much of anything. Tried closing them up in a small drawer but still didn't get a good strong scent from them. Maybe I got a bad batch? Top to learn more

Lavendar is weak but otherwise good
I bought these to put in drawers and in bags for long term storage of winter things and such. The scent is strong but more cedar than lavender. I bought reg. cedar as well and the lav is just a slight hint to the ball scent. I put them 3 in a muslin bag and the scent is light but still there. You won't smell the cedar if you keep them in your regular clothes drawer. Not sure how permeable it will be in long term storage. While I haven't been able to find the lavender/cedar ones in the store, I have found the regular cedar in Walmart for less than $4 each for the same size packet. So these and the regular cedar are a bit over priced here if you don't mind going to Walmart. Top to learn more

Great for closets! Solved my moth problem
I began using cedar blocks when a couple of my favorite sweaters got moth holes. Since I started using cedar blocks this has not happened again. I was so pleased with the cedar blocks that I tried hanging them in the closet attached with a ribbon, but that did not work really well. They were either on the way or fell to the floor. When I discovered Cedar Hang-ups my unsuccessful ribbon solution was replaced. Cedar hang-ups really work. They are not in the way, can be easily moved on the closet rod, they smell great, and I have not lost anything to a moth since I began using them. I found that I can prolong their intense scent by roughing them up with sand paper, this makes them smell again. Top to learn more
Repels insects, not just for the closet
In New Orleans we have an annual flying termite infestation every spring. I live in a converted warehouse that has all of the crannies and nooks you'd expect in a 100+ year old building, so bugs can find their way in pretty easily. I'm reluctant to use insectiside around my dog and cat, so I put two of these cedar hang-ups on each window frame (in the kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathrooms, et al.) and it could not have worked better. My wife was so happily surprised that something so simple would prove so effective. I am so glad I got these. Top to learn more

Elegant and smell nice
I love these little cedar pieces. They are easy to hang or leave on the ground, and they smell great. Also they look elegant---their little hangers are gold coloured---so there's no need to hide them in my closet. With all 18, there's enough to cover a large closet or a couple smaller ones. I've been using them in my studios & tiny 1-bedrooms for years next to my cat litter box, and they also do a great job at eliminating cigarette smoke, leftover odors from cooking, "musty" old carpet/old building smells, and various other smells... If the smell continues, the best thing to do is ask around and if you find the source, politely ask the person to kindly not use as many moth balls. Is there something else that mimics the mothball smell or is this something we should be worried about. Q: I live in an old walk-up building in Manhattan and our apartment suddenly smells like moth balls. So far, the quickest way to rid the smell of moth balls is a good dose of fresh air as the gas will eventually diminish. If it continues, then it's best to find the source of the moth balls. Email yours with pic attachments here (those with pics get answered first) I should probably comment on how to get rid of the smell too.
