Best Honey EVER!
It is exactly as promised on the label. It is raw, unfiltered, unprocessed, completely pure organic honey in the form nature intended. So fresh and smooth, it has a wonderfully delicious flavor that puts the typical processed honeys lining the store shelves to absolute shame. First off, you will notice that THIS honey is NOT a clear amber color like processed honeys are, and that is because all this ones nutrients, minerals, and all the bee propolis, traces of pollen, and bee jelly are all still intact (which is a GOOD thing) because they have not been filtered out. It is not runny, because it has not been heated (or the live enzymes would have been killed, like in processed honeys)so it is not going to be drippy. Yet, it is not too hard either. It is easily scoopable, smooth, and sooo very creamy. Easily spreadable for toast. If you DO want it runny for whatever reasons, the best way (and easiest) is to simply scoop out what you want into a small bowl and place the bowl into hot...

Raw, Unheated, Unfiltered, Unpasteurized What is the major difference in organic from conventional beekeeping? Organic bee colonies are not maintained with the use of any chemicals! Terramycin for treating foulbrood disease, Apistan for Verroa mites, GardStar for treating small hive beetles, nor Bee Go to chase bees instead of using a smoker. We meet all the standards of Organic Certification including: GMO Free, Land Certification, Beehives Certification, Producer Certification, Processor Certification. How can someone say it's organic honey when bees can fly wherever they want? First, the beehives are specifically placed in isolated areas away from any type of contamination (golf courses, agricultural areas, heavy traffic areas, landfills). Secondly, the flying range of a bee is determined by their natural instinct which tells them to stay within approximately a two mile range from their hive location. When they fly out of this range, all sense of direction is lost. What makes your honey crystallize solid? Where and what type of plants bees forage on will determine the nutrient level, crystallization, color, fragrance and taste. Y.S. beekeepers have the true knowledge of quality. The results produce a superior, energy packed (intense crystallization) honey with the highest possible levels of live enzymes, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and healing agents as a functional food. Only truly raw state honey that has never been processed will crystallize with intensity and has full beneficial properties nature intended. Excellent Quality
I don't normally use honey but I drink a fair amount of tea and wanted something healthier than white sugar or products like Splenda, etc.Just got two one pound jars of Really Raw Honey and I must say it's much nicer than what I'm used to at the local grocery store. It's packed in glass jars which is the proper way to pack honey (it can absorb things from plastics). Plus its totally unfiltered yet seems more sophisticated in both taste and texture than the super market stuff. It's a solid, so it's less messy than the liquid variety. I just made a cup of tea and dipped a spoon into the honey and it scoops easily up and melted into my tea right away,If you think honey is too cumbersome to use, reconsider. I can't honestly say this brand is better than others in its class but it is definitely nicer than the typical filtered, liquid, plastic squeeze container variety found in most super market brands.Addendum: April 2009 - my... WOW - The BEST Honey !!!
Let me just start by saying that I am the kind of gal who cooks for her family and tries very hard to either buy local grown or when those aren't available, organic products. I tried the Really Raw Honey - OH MY GOSH! Hands down - the BEST honey I have ever tasted! When you open the jar, you notice it has a beautiful fragrance! It tastes like honey and flowers - it is so smooth, flavorful, delightful! No preservatives, no heating, no pesticides... Just like if you went out, took a knife and scraped a bee-hive. Soooo GOOOOD!One reviewer had an issue with it not being "organic". I would just like to say that the bees are local to where the manufacturer is. They pollinate on flowers that have not been sprayed, harvested.... They are providing as pure and free-from-by-product honey as you can get on the market today. And remember - organic, although better than off the shelf produce/meat/eggs... does not mean free-range, local grown.... That is a whole different topic... Top to learn more

Product Description
We use goldenrod and aster nectar and our cold packing process to produce our creamy, crystalline texture and rich, full-bodied flavor. This fall the Aster plant bloomed in abundance, and the bees foraged enthusiastically. Aster causes the honey to crystallize firm and smooth. If you would like to soften your honey, place the jar in warm water or leave in a warm room - this will not cause any loss of enzymes or other healthful properties in the honey! Top to learn more

I watched at a friend's and just bought a copy for my collection!
I had heard tales about the Louisiana Honey Island Swamp Monster, and watched this film while visiting a friend, who had bought his DVD at a Louisiana Gift Shop. I enjoyed the movie because it was not a big budget Hollywood film, but raw and real with authentic Swamper story-tellers who lived on houseboats and river camps. Most of the eye-witness encounters were believable, though a few make you wonder. It is the legend and lure about this creature that is so facinating. I think my children would also enjoy it because they like monster movies and this one is tame enough for them to view, so I just ordered a copy for our collection. I also enjoyed the swamp scenery and original music. Top to learn more

Before beekeeping was re-legalized in New York City last year, a handful of urban beekeepers operated in the shadows, surreptitiously tending hives hidden in backyards or on rooftops, and sharing their small but precious honey harvest with... The situation was hopeless – no one could generate enough supply as local honey fiends swept in to buy and hoard every last drop they could get their hands on. The last of the borough’s fall honey harvest was gone in a matter of weeks. Determined to significantly ramp up honey production to meet the local demand, they launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise $20,000 to build out a full-on apiary, including a minimum of 25 hives with the goal of producing over 1,000 pounds of... “Honey made by local bees with the same local pollen that wreaks havoc on your sinuses makes lifelong allergies disappear in a matter of weeks,” they whispered.

Local neighborhood honey boxes help to rebuild stronger, healthier bee populations and bring color and vitality to the local neighborhoods they live in. Honey bees like variety and thrive on the diversity of plants that we grow in our gardens. These seasonal and local nuances are lost in commercially harvested honey, which is collected and stored in large vats that combine honey harvested from many regions (or even countries) over several months. Spring honey is typically lighter in color (a clear amber hue) with a more floral quality, summer honey is slightly darker, and fall or winter honey is darker still with a richer, earthier flavor. It takes the nectar from over 1 million flowers to make 1 pound of honey, and 10 pounds of honey are required to produce 1 pound of beeswax. Honey bees collect nectar and pollen from an area approximately 2-3 miles in radius from the hive – that means “local” is really “local. Honey bee and neighborhood honey facts:. 5 miles of me, his honey is truly “local” to us…and so, I bugged and begged and pleaded with him to bring in a few jars and sell them to me. He did, and I bought two jars off of him for $10. Local honey picks up the character of the neighborhoods it comes from. His kids finance their annual class trips through the sales of the honey his bees produce, and since he lives within 1. In turn, we all benefit from the pollinating services honey bees provide, and our gardens beocme lusher and more productive.
These groups were then divided into three subgroups with some people taking two teaspoons of local honey per day, others taking the same amount of non-local honey each day and the final subgroup not taking honey at all. The study was never published, but the anecdotal evidence in favor of honey as an allergy reliever continues: Several of the study participants asked if they could keep the remaining honey after the experiment was concluded. Xavier students found that after six weeks, allergy sufferers from both categories suffered fewer symptoms and that the group taking local honey reported the most improvement.
