Great Little Laptop For The Money and It Works!!
I was going to purchase this HP DV6-6c10us laptop from Amazon but found a deal at Staples that I could not pass up. Purchased it for my daughter and she loves it. Uses it mostly for work that she brings home from her job along with Internet, email and music. I also hooked the laptop to her 61 inch HDTV with an HDMI cable. She now streams HD shows and music videos to her HDTV by way of the internet. Outstanding resolution.Microsoft Office Starter also came loaded on this computer. Word and Excel Starter are a nice addition if you don't need the full version of Office. All you need for home use.Disabled or uninstalled all of the items that we didn't want or need without a glitch. Took about 15 minutes.The laptop recognized all of the equipment that she had for her old laptop and installed it without a glitch.After everything was hooked up and operating, including her printer, she decided that she wanted to use it as a wireless printer...

This review is is about the product, not HP's support...
I am going to post a legitimate review about the actual product here. A few of the other reviews on this product were pretty much ranting and pointless. I am an IT technician, and I will sum it up as short as possible, but to the point. I bought this for my own personal use, not for work. All in all, this PC has great speed, good hibernation in and out of lid closes (hasn't locked up once yet), and fingerprint reader is actually very useful. Beats audio is marketing mostly, sounds a little better though. This PC is gorgeous aesthetically, and touchpad is useable for once. It has advanced functions (two finger zoom/scroll, etc.). Also, for those of you that don't like the touchpad light that surrounds the touchpad, (fn) function & spacebar toggles it on and off. Double tap the top left corner of the touchpad to turn it off and use a wireless mouse. A great deal no matter how you slice it
OK first things first & in the interest of full disclosure...I didn't buy this laptop from Amazon. I in fact bought it from my local Staples when they had an amazing deal too good to pass up. Beautiful and fast laptop
setup took less than 5 minutes and from the point where you turn on the laptop to where you are logged in and able to get on the internet is less than 30 seconds... it has an amazing graphics card with a 6.0 rating on the windows index rating.... it has a base score of a 4.5 which for Aero graphics... for windows 7... i was lead to believe by some of the photos that it had a blu-ray drive... but sadly it does not... it can still burn dvd's and cd's so i am okay with that... This is a very good laptop for its price... and it does not feel cheap at all.. i bought a desktop computer for 800 dollars 3 years ago, my desktop still has a better processor, but this laptop beats the socks off my desktop when it comes to graphics... it can play a lot of the newest games like Battlefield 3 and modern warfare 3 :D! i think the only downside somewhat is the screen, it is not as High Def as i want it to be... my Desktop Dell Inspiron One 19 is still better when it comes to screen quality... and i...

Very Nice Laptop
***Pros*** I bought this laptop as a family utility machine, it sits in my living room and at least 4 people use it regularly. I was looking for something that was new and had new components, this has a 2nd gen Intel I3 processor along with a USB 3.0 port and bluetooth 3.0. The major pro to this machine is the price along with some new features. The screen display and keyboard are nice as well. It also has a 720P Webcam with facial recognition software and fingerprint reader(it doesn't always work though). For those that care about noise this thing doesn't really make any, my previous laptop fan ran a lot. ***Cons*** I took a star off because the machine has lots of crap software on it. It would be nice if you could have the option of just getting it shipped with the OS only. There are also 3 partitions on the hard drive, 1 called HP recovery, 2nd which is FAT32 for HP tools, and a 3rd for everything else. I'm still working on removing crap software,...

Review of my laptop
We (I and my wife) did our own comparison with other brands and found this to have the best specification and also value for money. It is originally sold for 570-580$ in HP, so getting this at a huge discount from CircuitCity is really great. Our goal was to find a decent laptop for home use within budget of 400-450$ dollars. We compared HP-Pavilion g6-1b79dx priced at 429.99$, Toshiba - C655-S5128 at 449.99$, Toshiba - C655-S5212 at 399.99$, Dell Inspiron 15R i3-380M at 399$, Lenovo ideapad z560 at 449.99$. For this kind of price, i receive a HD webcam, anti-glare screen, bluetooth and WiFi. Plus i also receive a HDMI port for viewing images/movies on my larger LCD TV. It also comes with Windows 7 (64 bit) which enables the OS to handle large amounts of data (RAM) when compared to 32 bit. The only flaw if i could say so is that it comes with 320 GB Hard drive whereas others might offer you a 500 GB capacity, but who cares! atleast i find the storage capacity...

Best laptop for this price!
This laptops is awesome. This laptop has the sandy bridge version of the i3 which has really strong integrated graphics card. and very quick processor. I was actually able to get around 35 FPS on Civilization V on low setting which means I could run smoothly at medium settings, which also means that you can play alot of other games like MW2, Fifa, NFS, Portal, Mirror's Edge, Red Alert 3, and games at this intensity on low settings. Fifa will surely run on medium settings. Aside from the specs, The touchpad is a little bit rough at first as if you're touching very fine sandpaper, but after a while of use you get used to it and realize that it actually works better than glossy touchpads on other laptops. Also the USB hubs are a little bit hard to get extensions in them, but for me that's a plus so that the USBs don't fall off easily. The screen is really vibrant, although I haven't tested it in direct sunlight. You will...

good laptop for the price
You need to understand where I'm coming from - my most recent computer was running a Pentium 4 with 512MB of RAM and an 80GB hard drive. That being said this computer is a significant step up, and I think it's great. I think it's also important to know what I'm using this computer for....I work in a hospital and use this to log on to the hospital system, use Microsoft Office, and surf the internet. For these applications this computer is perfect. I've had it for about 1 month and have had no issues. It does come loaded with a bunch of HP software which can be uninstalled so that's not a problem. The battery is listed as 4 hrs...it probably doesn't last that long - I haven't officially timed the battery life but it's probably closer to 3 hrs. The case is plastic, the cold startup time is fast <30 sec, the wake from hibernate time is close to 3 seconds, the display is clear; the keyboard is easy to type on. Great Laptop for its price range
First of all this is a very good laptop for the price. Second if you buy it at the Amazon price during a holiday season you have been robbed. I bought it at Staples for $424 after rebate and the 100 dollars they knocked off when I traded in my old laptop. This was my first time using windows 7 and it works like a dream on this laptop. While not a gaming computer it is fast enough for some of the simpler online MPGs. I actually got dizzy with how well it kept up with game graphics. My only issue is I wish I could get a 500 Gb hardrive but you can always buy one later at a reasonable price. It is also a great workhorse laptop. I do freelance writing and this computer is a pleasure to work on and helps me find and organize files easily. The mouse pad is iffy and I wish they kept the left and right click mousepad buttons separate. Otherwise was one purchase I am very satisfied with. Further tip if you are a college student wanting to get the most out of windows software you should order...

Great budget laptop
I'm really pleased with the purchase of this laptop. One thing to realize is that it's not the fastest or thinnest/lightest laptop out there. It's pretty much a standard laptop, with modest specs, but it does all many of the functions that a basic computer user out there is looking for. Great laptop value!
I believe this is a terrific value for someone who wants a laptop to do more than just web browsing, email,and word processing. It's fast enough and has adequate memory to work with video and music. We've been impressed with the keyboard, screen resolution, weight and "feel". The processor does its job effectively without any lag. Overall the HP G6-1b60us is a good balance of features, performance and price - only the loud cooling fan keeps it from being great. The display is bright, the keyboard has a good feel and the large off-center touchpad makes a lot of sense for anyone that operates a mouse with their right hand. The mouse buttons below the touchpad are a bit stiff, but for light usage don't seem overly difficult. Performance is about what I expected from a budget laptop model with Windows 7 being ready for use in just under 20 seconds (prior to loading any of your own programs). The computer is very easy to setup out of the box with smart and simple setup menus to guide you through initial startup of the system, and fortunately HP has left a lot of 3rd party trial software off the system - saving you time from having to remove software that just slows your system down from the start.
