Really 2 seperate add ons for Fallout 3. OA is 3 stars, The Pitt is 4 1/2 stars
There are really 2 different things here, and I'll try and deal with them separately. Also, to try and clear up confusion, there are several ways to get these add ons. You can get them from Games for Windows LIVE (GFWL)individually, or you can buy this add on disk with the BOTH of them on it. The software is the same. With GFWL you can, get each one by itself (and others as well). If you buy this disk, you get 2 at a time.Operation Anchorage was the first Add on that was available for Fallout 3. Personally, I didn't care for it... It takes place in a "simulation", and outside the Fallout 3 storyline. There's some that takes place in the capital wasteland, but only about 10% of it. There are some new weapons (the Gauss rifle is pretty cool), but other than that, its pretty underwhelming. I found Anchorage pretty confusing, and it gave me a headache sometimes when I had to wander around lost in a maze of nondescript frozen paths. It is very very linear, as well as...

Product Description

Requires Fallout 3 to play. The Pitt Description: The Pitt allows you to travel to the post-apocalyptic remains of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and become embroiled in a conflict between slaves and their Raider masters. Explore a sprawling settlement ravaged by time, neglect, nuclear radiation, and moral degradation. The Pitt is filled with morally grey choices, shady NPCs, new enemies, new weapons, and much more. Story: The Pitt opens with a desperate radio message, and a meeting with its sender, an escaped slave named Wernher. Wernher claims that the leader of "The Pitt" has created a cure for mutations... and he needs you to go in and retrieve it. From there, the player can proceed in a number of ways, in true Fallout 3 style. Do you fight your way in, or disguise yourself as a slave? Ally with the slaves, or join their Raider overlords? The Pitt is very morally ambiguous - there's no real right or wrong, just choices to be made, sides to be chosen, and a mystery that could send shockwaves throughout the entire Wasteland. Operation Anchorage Description: Operation: Anchorage. Enter a military simulation and fight in one of the greatest battles of the Fallout universe - the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from its Chinese Communist invaders. Gain access to unique armor, weapons, and exotic gadgets while you build and command interactive Strike Teams to win the battle and defeat the Chinese base. Story: The Brotherhood Outcasts are trying to acquire advanced military technology, and the only way to open the vault containing these relics is by completing a tactical simulation only you can enter. In Operation: Anchorage you will re-live the epic Battle of Anchorage from Fallout lore. Find your way into the simulation, stripped of resources, and survive within the rules set up by the simulation’s creators. The Chinese red army is everywhere, so secure the surrounding mountain side and fight your way into the Chinese base. Top to learn more

THE PITT AND OPERATION:ANCORAGE
Basically it's the DLC on a disk. It comes with a cool poster with vault boy all over it. Loses a star because it downgrades fallout 3 to v1.4 if not careful, but can easily be fixed.(UPDATE)It also removes the need for a disk to be in the drive to play Fallout 3! I wish i could give this game's one lost star back but amazo won't let me so this product is 5/5 stars!

No GFL!
I feel compelled to review this, seeing that it has 1 star overall. This is not a bad product. If you enjoyed Fallout 3, you will like this game. It adds the first two expansions (or DLCs), Operation Anchorage and The Pitt.If you have not tried these yet because you did not want to use Games for Windows Live, I would highly recommend this.As for the "malware" it installs, I have had no problems with Securom. [...]-*Buy this if you liked Fallout 3*- It will add hours of fun to your game!

Excellent
Broken Steel does for Fallout 3 what the Extended Editions did for Lord of the Rings: by adding more and deeper content it makes you care more and feel like things have properly been resolved. Plus, after the dramatic, explosion-packed finale, you get to play on as long as you like with a raised level cap.Point Lookout adds a huge swampy area for you too look around with plenty to see and do. The quest is fun and interesting and there are some great characters and locations. It's a great Fallout add-on, but those who enjoyed Bethesda's Shivering Isles and Morrowind will enjoy the landscape too.

Excellent DLC
If you have Fallout 3 and want to take your game further, this is the DLC for you. Broken Steal and Point Lookout are much, much better and open ended than Operation Anchorage and The Pitt.Contrary to what one misinformed reviewer wrote, this add on actually removes SecuRom from the original Fallout 3 installation. If you don't own Fallout 3 yet, you may want to wait, as a game of the year edition will be released soon with all five DLCs included.

worthy additions to the Fallout universe
I've been pleased with the DLCs that Fallout 3 has come out with. Fortunately my two favorites happened to be packaged together. Both provide entertaining game play and at $[...] its a pretty good dealBROKEN STEEL: Broken Steel begins where the main quest in the game ended. After activating the water purifier, you must deal with the remaining pockets of the Enclave forces through out the wasteland. There are also some fun side quests where you deal with gangs that attempt to extort the new water supply. Broken Steel adds some fun adventure and some powerful new equipment, which you will definitely need because the action gets intense towards the end. The biggest perk is that you can increase your EXP level to 30 that include some powerful benefitsPOINT LOOKOUT: My personal favorite of the DLC's so far (though at this point have not played MOTHERSHIP yet) in this DLC you take a ferry to Point Lookout Maine to capitalize on a business opportunity. Product Description

Fallout 3 Xbox360 comes with 2 expansion packs. Fallout 3 is a singleplayer action role-playing game set in a post-apocalyptic Washington DC. Combining the horrific insanity of the Cold War era theory of mutually assured destruction gone terribly wrong, with the kitschy naivety of American 1950s nuclear propaganda, Fallout 3 will satisfy both players familiar with the popular first two games in its series as well as those coming to the franchise for the first time. Yes We Can (Go Beyond Lvl 20)!: A Much Needed Expansion for Fallout 3
In my review for the game itself, I stated how I felt the maximum level of 20 was absolutely ridiculous as you can easily achieve this level VERY early in the game. My other criticism pertained to the "good" ending where, unlike in other roaming RPGs such as Fable II, ends the game prematurely preventing you from going back to explore the rest of the wasteland. Not anymore!Broken Steel continues the story with a three primary quests and then allows the player to free roam afterwards. The level cap has also been raised from the low level of 20 to a not-so-low level of 30. This does present a problem for gamers that have beaten all the dungeons before installing Broken Steel as the expansion does not have enough quests to reach the level cap. However, that is where Point Lookout comes in, but more on that later.Similar to previous expansion packs, such as Operation Anchorage and The Pitt, Broken Steel includes new and powerful weapons such as the...

More fun than you can fit in your Confederate Hat
I am an ardent Fallout fan, and Fallout 3 was like a Godsend to the series, making it far more immersive than I anticipated that it would. I had purchased and played The Pitt/Operation: Anchorage DLC when it became available on DVD and loved that game as well as it adds to the existing mythology of the game so very well. This is the 2nd DLC (that's Downloadable Content to those of you not in the know), basically an expansion pack to the root Fallout 3 game. Some Spoilers ahead! Consider yourself warned! This second DLC (Broken Steel) pack takes you on a no holds barred battle to wipe out the remnants of the Enclave still populating the DC Wasteland area. Despite President Eden's demise and the terrible pounding that the Enclave took at the end of the first game, they're still around in large numbers and are determined to take control of the DC area by force. Broken Steel allows you to pick up where the end of Fallout 3 left off by allowing that you were put in...

A blast from the past
Never haven played any Fallout games before, I didn't know what to expect. I knew they were most likely great games after hearing PC Gamer magazine go on about the greatness of the original Fallout games all the time. Even then, I underestimated the games. I started playing Fallout and found that it was fun, addicting, and really immersive. The world's are beautifully crafted and will make you wish YOU lived in the post-apocalyptic world. The story's are great in all the games. Each character has their own original personality. And being made ten years ago, they are perfect netbook games. You don't need me to tell you these games are great, just buy it. You won't be dissappointed.P.S. Despite what other people might tell you, there is no DRM. No disc is required to play (also a plus for netbooks) and there are unlimited installs. But hey, it's only twenty dollars. Why pirate it?

Fun. The purpose of games....remember?
If you don't mind the limitations of a 1980s program, this is a great package. If you haven't ever played the fallout series, I envy you. You may be in for a pleasant surprise. A lot of love when into these games. They are not just "good for the time", they are just plain good. The original fallout was a winner. Fallout 2 was even better in many ways. Both of them were very absorbing with a lot of replay-ability. Both quickly developed a fanatical following. Fallout Tactics is not really the same kind of game. I believe it was a result of lots of fans screaming for a sequel. It's basically a 3rd person shoot-em-up and not in the same league with the first two, but still lots of fun.In fallout and fallout 2, Your actions determine how others react to you. You can play the game as a shooter, or a talker, or evil, or nice. Each type of play is not only possible, they are all fun. Both Games have a fairly straightforward story line with a few cool...

Be Careful What You Order!!!
I ordered Fallout Trilogy from a Private Seller through Amazon. What I recieved was the European Version. Both the Images (Box Art) and certain Reviews conflict with each other. If you plan on ordering from a Private Seller make sure they have their product placed correctly. One is distributed through White Label (European Version), the other by Interplay (US Version). Aside from the distributer, the European Box Art is different from that of the US. The main contrast in the UK Version is the removal of children. This takes away from the original game as well as removing certain quests. Aside from that, if it's important to you, some Violence Animations are removed and a minor Language filter is present. Although not completly unplayable, if you are like me you want your game as it was intended by the developers.

Fallout 3 Expansions

One of the bonuses of the addition of the third DLC for Fallout 3, Broken Steel, was to raise the level cut off point, allowing the gamer to progress from the original cap of level 20 to level 30. This will be somewhat of a trip down memory lane for those whom originally found themselves hooked to Oblivion as their main taste of the Elder Scrolls world, and an intriguing delve into the history of the Elder Scrolls universe for those whom...

People will tell us. But maybe we want to rebalance it. Maybe we want to add some features and patch them in, whereas in previous games, like Oblvivion or Fallout 3, our thinking was just to patch it, fix the big problems. "So I think we had more of a plan and thought process of 'We want to make the game better after it's out.

The story is as good as any game can have and the voice acting is well done, especially in the likes of Liam Neeson but unfortunately because of the story, the game is a little too linear for my liking. He tells you he wants to die, from what I’ve learnt in the Fallout Wiki and the game itself ( http://fallout. Fallout 3 has taught me not to nuke people. It is difficult to start off with, seeing as it was the first time for me playing a Bethesda game so I didn’t know what to do or where to go. After I played It for a few more hours I became used to the combat system and the mechanics. com/wiki/Fallout_Wiki ) he’s lived for over 2 centuries and if you keep him alive you don’t ease his suffering. Another great thing about this game is the feeling you get at the end when you discover you’re the saviour of humanity, you save the lives of every living human and monster you like (if you so choose). Now in the game, it registers as good karma but I don’t believe this, the fact that Harold and Bob suffers as they live longer is to me, a sense of torture. OK satire aside, the game is awesome and as soon as you start playing you’ll be hooked. Sorry Bethesda but come on, your humans in this game don’t look the best. Seeing as it is an open world Bethesda game, obviously it is littered with glitches. The way you do this of course is monitored by the game’s morality system known as the Karma meter. I haven’t encountered many on my journey through the wasteland, but the glitches go by forgiven as the sheer greatness of the game outshines the flaws. There was a pain somewhere in my head when I did it. I had such a weighing guilt in me so I had to start the game again.
