Intitially a problem but Dremel Service was Excellent
I ordered this tool a couple months ago to replace a 10 yr old Dremel that gave up. Upon setting up and using the tool on my lawn mower blade the the new drill locked up within a minute. I heard a rattling sound inside and thought it was a chipped brush. I took out the brushes and one was chipped and broken.I replaced the brushes and tried again. The motor gave a very bad sound and locked up again. I took the drill apart and found that one of the copper plates that the brushes touch had broken off.I emailed Dremel support about the situation. I received a prompt email and was directed to send the unit to the Racine, WI service center with all of my supporting documents.Within a week I received a new drill. I was very pleased to see such a fast turnaround and courteous service. I promptly set it up and went to town on the lawn mower blade and it didn't skip a beat. I did my neighbor's blade as well. great little tool
This is a fixed speed basic small grinder/buffer. It replaced a rechargeable battery model that just stopped working. Dremel offers several collects and bits for this, but they have to be ordered separately.I was hoping I could also use this for my dogs nails, but it is too loud for her. I am very happy with this well made product.

Fast and noisy & powerful
I got so tired of the small cordless dremel not holding charge, that I opted for this model to trim my four dogs' nails. Now never a forced halt to charge up the tool. It is very fast & powerful, & I have an idea it will last a long time, compared to the short lives of the two cordless dremels I've owned only recently. To do dog's nails with this, you should know exactly what you are doing as it is very fast & grinds into the tender areas quickly. Even eye protection is advised. Holding down hairy parts with a nylon sock is a good idea. Best thing, the chore is over with in a hurry. Some dogs may hate the sound, which is louder than a cordless.

nice starter set
I purchased this tool kit at a Father's Day sale for $29.99. Sorry Dad, but it was for me. I didn't want to spend a lot when I wasn't sure if I would like it. So far, so good. After a couple of small accessory purchases, I've cleaned my shovels, pruners, and some other tools, cleaned my golf clubs, cut some tile, sanded some areas of the house, and removed the nasty grout from the kitchen floor and added knew. Not bad for a week of evenings and a weekend. I can see that I might eventually upgrade to a more powerful and multispeed tool, but as a starter set- this is GREAT.

Dremel 100 cheap upgrades
Got this to replace a battery Dremel unit on the cheap as a red tag at Wally World. Right out of the box it vibrated really bad and wined loud with nothing on it. Clue..if I squeezed the casing it stopped vibrating and wining.Did some research and someone suggested wrapping masking tape around the bearing casings when the bearing run-out gets bad. Since this was brand new, there was no run-out in the bearings yet but it gave me the idea to wrap the steel part of the motor with some thin double face foam tape to cushion the motor casing from the plastic outer tool casing. (tip: leave the paper backing on the outside of the tape) Bingo! It worked and the thing purrs like a kitten now.This issue leads me to believe that they have some Mexico quality control issues to work out. Seems that I'm getting used to fixing/ re-engineering new imported stuff. Sad but so true.
