The OEM standard for BMW
The best filter for a BMW , in my humble opinion. Have been using Mann every oil / filter change had no problems on my 1999 Z3 2.5L with this filter. Others, including NAPA Gold tend to be a bit restrictive. The only thing is, it is a bit too expensive here. The dedicated German filter [...] has the same thing dramatically (!) cheaper. Same as OEM - half the price

Lisle says, "The low profile socket fits both the 35mm and 36mm fuel and oil filters. The low profile socket works in confined spaces. 3/8" drive. Not for use with an impact wrench." on their website. This socket also fits the BMW 36mm oil filter and works well. This item is sturdy but I would agree that I is not impact wrench sturdy. If your looking for a all purpose socket them this is not for you. True PAO-based synthetic oil
I picked this oil for my car because it's a true synthetic oil (PAO-based) not the fake synthetics like other 0W-40 oils. In the US, the definition of synthetic is more lax and cheaper quality oils are allowed to be labeled synthetic even though they wouldn't qualify as such in Europe (hence the need to differentiate it as European car formula). If you have a high performance engine (Audi, BMW, etc...) then this is what you want. If you don't have one (e.g. Camry) then you don't necessarily need this. The two numbers in the rating, 0W-40, are the viscosity at low and high temps. You basically want low viscosity at low temps when you start the engine to get lubrication flowing quickly and high viscosity at normal engine operating temperature to reduce engine wear. Standard petroleum-based oil does not have such a dynamic viscosity range, so oil manufacturers have created synthetic oils to do this. I was a bit skeptical when I saw this product being shipped from China. But it works. If you do your own oil change or have a difficult time finding a mechanic who can reset your inspection service light, this is a very good buy. It is simple to use and worked as promised.
